Gilby Clarke is an American guitarist, singer, songwriter, and record producer who rose to prominence as the rhythm guitarist of Guns N’ Roses from 1991 to 1994, replacing Izzy Stradlin during the Use Your Illusion Tour. Prior to GN’R, Clarke played in the power pop band Candy and the harder-edged Kill for Thrills on the Los Angeles scene. Following his departure from Guns N’ Roses, he launched a prolific solo career and collaborated with Slash’s Snakepit, recording their debut album It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere (1995).
