Mike Portnoy is an American drummer best known for his work with the progressive metal band Dream Theater. He has great technical skill and versatility, having played with numerous other bands and projects such as Sons of Apollo, The Winery Dogs, and Liquid Tension Experiment and earning countless drumming awards.
