New Wave of British Heavy Metal pioneers Saxon have announced the second European leg of their Gods Of Thunder world tour, featuring 17 dates across the continent in March 2027. The tour will see the return of the band's spectacular 30-foot mechanized Eagle stage production for select shows, bringing one of metal's most iconic visual elements back to European audiences.

The announcement expands Saxon's upcoming album campaign into a major European tour event, building on the momentum of the Gods Of Thunder world tour. The mechanized Eagle, a longtime centerpiece of Saxon's live production, has become synonymous with the band's powerful stage presence and theatrical approach to heavy metal performance.

Saxon emerged from the fertile British metal scene of the late 1970s and became one of the defining acts of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal movement. Alongside contemporaries like Iron Maiden and Def Leppard, the band helped establish the sound and ethos that would influence generations of metal musicians. With classics like "Denim and Leather," "Wheels of Steel," and "Princess of the Night," Saxon crafted anthems that celebrated working-class pride and the power of heavy metal itself.

Throughout their four-decade-plus career, Saxon has remained remarkably consistent, releasing over 20 studio albums and maintaining a relentless touring schedule that has earned them a devoted global following. Their influence on the metal genre cannot be overstated — they helped bridge the gap between the blues-based hard rock of the 1970s and the more aggressive metal sound that would dominate the 1980s.

The band's induction into the Metal Hall of Fame recognizes their foundational role in heavy metal history and their unwavering commitment to the genre. While trends have come and gone, Saxon has stayed true to their core sound, delivering powerful riffs and working-class anthems that continue to resonate with metal fans worldwide.

The March 2027 European dates represent a significant undertaking for the veteran band, demonstrating that Saxon shows no signs of slowing down as they continue to bring their brand of pure British heavy metal to stages across the globe.
